A New Year

Hard to believe it is 2011; wow, where did 2010 go? Seems like the older I get, the faster time flies!

I took a little blogging break over the holidays, but I'm back. Believe it or not, I have actually been crocheting more than sewing. I finished a project I have been working on for awhile; it is a lapghan for Mr. S. to use at work. I hate the yarn, but he wouldn't agree to anything else, so camouflage it is:

Miss Ellie decided she needed to be in the picture too!

I have also started on the baby stuff I showed you awhile back. I got the hat done, and have 2 squares of the baby blanket completed with only 2 more to go. Then I will start on the sweater.

I'm trying to get my house cleaned and organized, but am just not feeling very motivated. Sure wish I could just snap my fingers and it would all be done for me.

If you want to see some gorgeous crochet work, you need to go check out the afghan my sister-in-law Becky made. She did the CAL that Bernat had a few months ago and she finished it the other day. It is absolutely gorgeous. Go here to check it out.  The picture doesn't really do it justice; in person it is absolutely stunning.

That's it for now ..... hope everyone has a great week.

  1. Thanks for stopping by Sandy. Once I had all the hexy's made...it kept me going but oh the joining....I have just a few hexy's left, today I attached about 5 so far...on a mission. Maybe a trip to Micheals for border color..I think jewel tones, and then finish off with off white scallops? I have to like the yarn color I am working with...I have made something camoflauge..for my son...it was a labor of love and I couldn't wait to finish it..and move on to something pretty.

  2. You know what? I really like that camouflaged afghan...what stitch/pattern did you use, I can't even tell - it all melts together with the colors. I like it!...and so does your kitty cat ;-)

I have major reorganizing and house cleaning to do, but thankfully my place is so small that once I make up my mind, it can all be done in 1/2 day!

    Have a wonderful week :-)
