I came across an afghan I had started crocheting awhile back, but stupid me did not put the hook or the pattern with the project. I have looked through my patterns and nothing looks like this project.

Do any of you recognize this pattern:

To me it pretty much looks like shells with maybe a double crochet in between, so I could probably figure it out. I would just love to have the pattern so that I know what size hook I was using and also how to finish it.

I sure hope someone out there recognizes it... thanks in advance for your help.

  1. I don't recognize the pattern, but it's pretty! :-)

  2. I hope you find the pattern. Looks like it will be very pretty when you finish it.

  3. I have a very similar pattern (if not the same) in a leaflet/book from Leisure Arts called "More Double-Quick for Baby." The blanket is called Cozy Cuddle. It uses a size P hook and double strands of yarn. If this sounds right, e-mail me and I will scan the pattern in for you.

  4. Is this it? It's similar...but probably not exactly right... :/ -- yours is gorgeous!!

  5. Michele, that one is pretty close ... very similar, but not quite it. Melissa, I have that book and you're right, it does look like this pattern, although I know I didn't use that big of a hook or double strands of yarn. Maybe I decided to do it in a smaller version ... if I can't find anything else, I may just use that pattern. Thanks so much for the help ladies!

  6. Glad you were able to get some help here from the crochet community online. I wouldn't have been able to tell you where the pattern was from but it's really pretty so I do hope you finish it!

  7. I think you have the pattern right.. I would look at making a tension square of the pattern.. that way you will see what size hook is required..:))
A very pretty colour and pattern ..

  8. I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but the Pattern Stitch is called Aligned Shells. They're crocheted in a multiple of 6 + 3 chs. If you want the instructions, I can e-mail them to you, but I'm sure you've got it by now.
I would just make a sample swatch with various hooks.

Thanks so much for leaving me a comment; I love to hear from you. I will reply directly to your comment right here on my blog.
